Hello! I’m Wes (he/they), a South London born, raised, and still currently present photographer. Born in 2004, I still have a lot to learn in terms of the artistic world, but am ready and willing to take in as much as I can!
I grew up with a father in the photography industry and siblings armed with cameras, so it’s always been an integral part of my life and a path that just felt natural to take. However, I only decided to take in on properly when I was 16 in an elective A-Level course. During my time at sixth form I grew to love photography more than I ever anticipated, and was always excited to be producing work and given new assignments. With a borrowed camera and not much else, I managed to come out the other side with high praises and a freshly honed style of my own. I take a lot of pride in said style – one that includes bright, rich colours, busy backgrounds and texture, and even the occasional illustration/annotation!
All my photographs will possess at least one of the above qualities, and I’d say my favourite genres to work with are staged photography and street photography!
My goals for my photographical future are to start working with the queer/trans community, people I hold dear to my heart as a member of both.
I am also a huge fan of slasher/horror movies (Chucky, Scream, Rocky Horror, etc!) and the camp of it all, so incorporating those sorts of things that I love into my work means a lot to me and I’m excited to get into it 🙂
